"Autobiographical"
was conceived as a prize for PBSFM listeners during their November 2007 'Naturally' campaign following a meeting with Adrian Basso, Station Manager at PBSFM.
Adrian's original brief of designing and making a 'CD rack' was initially rather daunting... after all, CD racks are normally so dull. We decided to start out by establishing what we perceived the limitations of existing units to be. Fate conspired that this task should be completed at Dante's in Fitzroy. After a few pots of St. Arnou, conversation turned to the above quote from High Fidelity and the design process began with renewed vigour. We decided that two key features had to be included: the ability to arrange a CD collection in any order, grouping or pile; and a place to keep any CD, including box sets, CDs with slim cases, card cases and no cases.
The resulting "Autobiographical" CD cabinet is a playful but highly functional piece of fine furniture. Handcrafted using traditional methods, the featured cabinet is made from Yellow Stringybark reclaimed from a derelict footbridge.

Dick: I guess it looks as if you're reorganizing your records. What is this though? Chronological?
Rob: No...
Dick: Not alphabetical...
Rob: Nope...
Dick: What?
Rob: Autobiographical.
Dick: No f***ing way.
